Local Services

The Doula Project is based in New York City and has 4 local programs. Since August 2008 we have served over 1,000 people in the NYC area.

01We partner with local organizations to provide birth doula support to their clientele. Currently we partner with Spence-Chapin, a pro-choice adoption agency, to provide doula support to their birth mothers.

02We work with pregnant people who cannot afford doula care or who seek low-cost doulas on a case-by-case basis.

03We partner with abortion clinics to provide doula care to their clients. We offer our services to pregnant people having medication abortion (the abortion pill) and surgical abortion. We currently partner with a Public Hospital's Reproductive Choices Clinic.

04We create a community of support, education, and opportunity within our organization and the doulas who work with us. We provide free continuous trainings, hold monthly support and educational meetings, and faciliatate relationships between the doulas who volunteer for us.

Our Mission

The Doula Project is an NYC-based organization that provides free compassionate care and emotional, physical, and informational support to people across the spectrum of pregnancy.
